Deerac Fluidics, Labcyte, and Promega are joint sponsors of a special workshop prior to the start of the SBS Annual Meeting. The workshop will be held on Sunday, September 17 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center, Seattle from 9:00am - 12:30pm in Room 607. The Workshop title is Achieve Miniaturization in Compound Screening-Move from Theory to Practice

Assay miniaturization has been difficult to achieve. Low volume dispensing from Deerac Fluidics and acoustic droplet ejection from Labcyte Inc. team up with superior drug metabolism assays from Promega and microplates from Corning to turn ideas into realities.

Cytochrome P450 and monoamine oxidases are two groups of enzymes involved in the metabolism of drugs. Promega luminescent metabolism assays include the P450-Glo Screening Systems and the MAO-Glo Assay System. Using the Labcyte Echo 550 liquid handler and the Deerac Fluidics Equator HTS, a collection of compounds was profiled by IC50 against the panel of metabolism assays in Corning 1536-well microplates. We will show how the flexibility and reliability of this high-throughput profiling method provide exceptional Z'-factor scores and high quality metabolism assays.
